Our May 5&6 CHLNet Network Partner Roundtable partners began its two-day gathering, welcoming two new partners to its health leadership table: Canadian Psychological Association and the Good Samaritan Society. Day 1 featured a partner roundtable (Chatham House Rule) on leadership challenges during the pandemic plus project updates on Leading Thru COVID Action Research Project, Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Toolkits, Wise Practices of Leadership Development Toolkit and National Health Leadership Huddles.
Day 2 featured a conversation on Shaping the Health System of the Future with a focus on the Wellness of the Health Workforce. As we look forward in the demobilization and recovery phase post pandemic what are the system design issues, we need to think about as health leaders to shape the health system of the future? At our last network partner roundtable, we heard that health leaders are often not at the tables where these conversations are occurring. Dr Barry Rubin, Medical Director Peter Munk Cardiac Centre was our featured speaker, along with a response panel followed with small group conversation on four questions including how to build a healthier and more psychologically supportive workforce and workplace? Senior leaders brought many emerging health leaders to the second day to ensure their input. More action to come from this!
